Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit Indian actress famous for Hum Aapke Hing Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is among the most well-known Indian actors. In the 1980s, she began her acting career, and was famous for her role as Tezaab, in which she starred with an established actor Anil Kapooor. She next appeared in the film Dil where she starred alongside Aamir Khan. Her birthplace was in the Mumbai middle-class family, and began to dance when she was a child. As a teenager she started acting, and struggled for years as the majority of her first films were failures. She eventually became one of the biggest actresses of Indian film. Following her marriage she had an absence from the industry before returning to the film industry. In the past, she was an integral role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women across India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards, out of which she won eight. The actress was also honoured with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. The award was also given to her for her efforts in the social sector.
