Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. The couple relocated to Oxfordshire when she was five where she attended an academy called the Dragon School. Emma decided to become an actor at age six. In the past she was a student at the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing along with dancing, as well as acting. Before the age of ten she had performed and taken the role of lead in a number of Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) is the movie adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel was first cast for the first second time back in 1999. Agents for casting found Emma from her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been selected for the roles. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It broke all records in terms of the opening weekend and revenues, and it also became the highest-grossing film of 2001. The film was praised by critics and the acting performances of the three leading young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, praised Emma's performances "amazing". Emma's performance received nominations and was awarded five more times for the movie.
